It might be time to consider taking a ‘t break,’ short for a THC break, as the negative consequences of cannabis use have begun to be on display in your life. While formal treatment is not necessarily indicated, it can benefit you to consider what the reasons for your smoking or other marijuana intake are, and if it serves your life in the way you would like.

Five positive responses to this questionnaire indicate that you likely have substance use issues, but may not border on addictive behaviors. It can be beneficial to seek help for this now before it causes long-term problems for your relationships or professional life.

At this level, you may respond well to outpatient treatment options where you can get the individualized help you need to address the root cause of your substance misuse. Treatment may be less restrictive and more flexible, allowing you to scale it when you see the need for greater amounts of therapeutic intervention.

Catalina offers outpatient treatment and aftercare services that meet for one to two hours at a time, just once or twice per week. This may be all you need to combat the psychological effects of turning to weed to manage your emotions and situation.

If your score falls into this range, you are likely headed toward marijuana addiction. You could benefit from some type of therapeutic intervention or detox for cannabis. It could be particularly challenging if you also drink alcohol to supplement the high you get from weed. When you start to notice more relational issues or even work-related problems, it’s time to seek help.

At this stage, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) or intensive outpatient (IOP) provides a greater degree of support than a more traditional outpatient approach. You can spend time with our clinicians during the day and return to your routine and loved ones at night.

Both PHP and IOP are a step down from an inpatient facility where you would stay for 30 to 90 days.

It’s never too early to seek help for drug or alcohol abuse. Remember, it is not a set quantity of ‘how much’ alcohol or cannabis you use, it is the affect it is having on life and happiness that matter. I

Once you hit this threshold, you will likely benefit from a medical detox to get the weed out of your system. It can come with intense cravings and uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms that necessitate some form of medical care. Catalina can keep you safe and help you transition to a long-term treatment option that will support your sobriety.

Seek professional help as soon as possible if you fall into this range.

3) Mental Health Issues and Dual Diagnosis Treatment Options
