Shawna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 20 years of experience in mental health and addiction counseling. She holds certification in EMDR and TF-CBT and has training in play therapy. She brings a compassionate, evidence-based approach to helping adults navigate mental health challenges and recovery.
Shawna earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kansas Wesleyan University, where she also completed specialized training in addiction counseling. She went on to receive her Master of Social Work degree from Newman University in 2008, providing her with a strong foundation in clinical practice and therapeutic interventions.
Shawna serves as the Executive Director at Catalina. In this leadership capacity, she provides guidance and support to the entire clinical team, ensuring the highest standards of care while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Shawna provides mental health services while also leading and mentoring fellow clinicians, supporting adults and families seeking behavioral health care.
